The Marconi post war numbering system was based on one or two letters followed by a number e.g. BD624 or B3100 for later cameras. Sometimes more than one part number relates to a particular camera as it overlapped the change from 2 to 1 prefix letters. The MkXX numbering system identified the camera family but not the exact version of that camera. Additionally the MkXX numbering also identified a particular constructional style that applied to the whole family of television equipment that was manufactured in that style by Marconi. |
